The 2024-25 Budget provides the Ministry of Education with $3.3 billion in funding to support Prekindergarten to Grade 12 schools, early learning, child care and libraries. This is an increase of $247.8 million over the previous year.
Budget highlights include:
- Saskatchewan’s 27 school divisions receive $2.2 billion in school operating funding for the 2024-25 school year, an increase of $180 million, or 8.8 per cent.
- This is the largest-ever increase for school operating funding in Saskatchewan.
- $35 million to support enrolment growth for the 2024-25 school year.
- $8.6 million to increase classroom supports.
- $40 million in annualized funding from the 2023-24 school year for classroom supports and enrolment growth.
- $30 million to fund operational pressures, such as salaries for non-teaching positions, bus drivers and educational assistants.
